I crocheted as a kid and worked on different projects here and there, I have no idea what I’m doing, but I wanted to try to make Serenity and myself some Jayn Hats in different colors. Here is how I did it.
I started by googling the pattern and I found this one by Riri (@lillyums)
Rnd 1: 10 dc in magic circle (10)
I have no idea, so I searched and found
Rnd 2: ch 1 or faux dc in first dc, 1 fpdc in same dc, 2 fpdc in each dc. Join. (20) I have no idea, so I searched and found this.
“faux dc” is faux Double Crochet Stitch
And This “fpdc” is Front Post Double Crochet Stitch
Rnd 3: ch 1 or faux dc in first fpdc, 1 fpdc in same fpdc, 1 fpdc in the next, *2 fpdc in the next, 1 fpdc* repeat * to *. Join. (30)
I was a little confused at this part until I comprehended what the astricts meant. Also, counting is hard.
I don’t know if I’m joining correctly but I found this.
At this point, I’m realizing that I lost count a lot, so this one may not turn out so good, but I have to learn somehow.
Rnd 4: ch 1 or faux dc in the first fpdc, 1 fpdc in the same fpdc, 1 fpdc in the next 2 fpdc, *2 fpdc in the next, 2 fpdc in the next 2 fpdc*. Repeat * to *. Join. (40)
Rnd 5: ch 1 or faux dc in the first fpdc, 1 fpdc in the same fpdc, 1 fpdc in the next 3 fpdc, *2 fpdc in the next, 3 fpdc in the next 3 fpdc*. Repeat * to *. Join. (50)
Rnd 6: ch 1 or faux dc in the first fpdc, 1 fpdc in the same fpdc, 1 fpdc in the next 4 fpdc, *2 fpdc in the next, 4 fpdc in the next 4 fpdc*. Repeat * to *. Join. (60) I’m staring at this, reading it over and over again. I have this thing where I can’t hold more than three numbers in my head at once without losing one of them, and to top it off I’m editing podcasts at the same time. So I’m losing even more count. However, I think the ratio is about right so maybe it will work out after I finish a Jay & Silent Bob Reboot youtbe rabit hole. You can learn anything on youtube, but the suggestions will get you every time.
